Joey Mertilch, Business Development Executive at Albers & Company, was recently honored at the fourth annual Leadership Washington graduation.
The intensive, nine-month leadership development program is aimed at cultivating a new generation of state leaders with a deeper understanding of what it takes to help Washington’s economy thrive. The class studied public policy, international trade, transportation, tourism and more.
“It is an honor to be part of AWB Leadership Washington Class of 2018! Our class traveled throughout the state to connect with the businesses that drive Washington’s economy. We were exposed to a very diverse cross-section of industries and leadership styles,” said Mertilch. “All the business leaders we met with take tremendous pride in the work they do and how they serve their customers. They also want the best for their employees and are looking for innovative ways to attract talent and build their unique culture. It has also been enlightening to hear how local, state and federal policies impact their ability to conduct business. AWB works hard to advocate for our state’s businesses and economy.”
The program is sponsored by the Association of Washington Business (AWB) Institute, which has been tasked by AWB members to help train and support new civic and business leaders.
“I’m grateful that Albers & Company supported my participation and want to recognize the team at AWB Institute for making it a great experience. The most valuable part of this program has been the relationships I have built with the Washington business leaders and my Leadership Washington classmates,” Mertlich continued. “I can’t say enough about the caliber of talent in this class and look forward to the positive impact we will create in our state and beyond. I am proud to be part of Washington’s business community!”
Congratulations Joey from Albers & Company!
